Best thing to do with patches is create an issue in JIRA (http://opensource2.atlassian.com/projects/xdoclet/) and attach them to that; emails may get forgotten or overlooked. Plus, the release notes just point to JIRA's changes log for each version, as it's easier than picking through the CVS logs to see what's been done...
