You are using "linux's" java-1.4.2-sun-1.4.2.06 I am using "windows'" j2sdk1.4.2_01 (from sun off course) In java 1.4 the xmlapis are not really needed, and I guess Because you're not having xerces in classpath you may be using jdk1.4 parser... something not compatible??
