Ah, so I finally figured it out. I forgot to spill the blood of a chicken across my keyboard before compiling!
Actually, the solution to the problem was to set the "@struts:action name" of the target action to the same name as the one generated in the name tag of the form. Who would have known?!? :) But if you understand this stuff better than I do, you can imagine what was happening. So, if you are having problems with your own forms, trust me, set the name of the form in this manner.
