once i:

         -removed the classpath reference to the old xdoclet,
         -removed the classpath reference to castor doclet, which i was 
experimenting with before,
         -used ant1.5b3 (is this documented someplace that you have to 
build with ant1.5?), and
         -added a classpath reference to xalan2.3.1

it worked.  thanks for your help.



questions about latest dev/cvs release
-------------------------------

is xdoclet switching to a new modules-based architecture?  the xdoclet.jar 
from 1.1.2 and the xdoclet.jar (and lib dir) generated from the latest cvs 
look different.  is the setup/usage different (i.e. do we have to include 
each module's .jar as well as the main xdoclet.jar now)?

also, can you please tell me where the castor-related files are?  i 
couldn't find them in the main xdoclet.jar nor the xdoclet-ejb-module.jar.
