Incidentally, I've submitted a patch a couple of weeks ago but it hasn't been merged in nor rejected (nor looked at, from what I can tell)...is jira actively monitored for patches and suchlike?

a bug, because it was designed to work this way. I'm only suggesting it's
bad design, and asking the community if it thinks we should remove
inheritance from home interfaces.
