Different situation.  The entity facade only got added shortly before 1.2 
beta 1, so backwards compatibility isn't an issue in the same way it is 
for data objects.  Plus, it was added at last minute before the build, 
when ideally nothing should have been changing except bug fixes, so there 
was no time to discuss & design it better...

Which is precisely the reason I raised XDT-44 a few days after the beta1 
release.  If it's there, people will use it.  Then they start to rely on 
it, and get justifiably upset if we change it too much.  Since that was 
back at the start of October and it's still in there, though, we're 
probably stuck with it now :-(
