I'm not sure what you mean by using XDoclet in a production environment. XDoclet is a code generator, in the same sense as an IDE plus a human programmer generate code. It's not a problem to use a beta version of an IDE and a mediocre programmer to write the code. -As long as you test the produced code properly before putting the code in production.
