XCP 1.0 does support the use of XenCenter, but, as Peter has pointed out, it currently only allows the use of XenCenter 5.6 FP1. Our beta program has ended, and unfortunately XenCenter 5.6 FP1 beta is unavailable for download at the moment.
We are aware of the issues with the Performace tab and the license issues. These issues should be resolved soon, but I don't have a timeline to share with you at the moment. We definitely appreciate everyone testing XCP 1.0 beta. Please continue to post any issues you find to the mailing lists. However, when I start XenCenter I get a pop up License Manager window listing the XCP 1.0 beta server and saying that I need to either assign XenServer licenses, or activate Free XenServer products. The "Activate Free XenServer" option is grayed out, so I don't know what will happen when the license expires in 27 days. Most of the functions of XenCenter are working with XCP with the exception of the Performance tab. Instead of getting graphs, I get an assertion failure pop up (at ArchiveMaintainer.GetHost(IXenObject xmo). Best Regards, 2010/12/1 <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> Actually, XCP 1.0 beta is supposed to work with XenCenter from Citrix. XCP 0.5 definitely did not support XenCenter and XCP 0.5 required the use of the one you linked to. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> [mailto:[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>] On Behalf Of Jean Rousseau Franco Sent: Wednesday, December 01, 2010 4:28 AM To: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> Subject: Re: [Xen-users] XCP beta 1 and XenCenter Hi, You need to use the https://sourceforge.net/projects/openxenmanager/files/ Best Regards, 2010/12/1 Angel L. Mateo <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> Hello, I have seen this announcement of XCP beta 1: http://blog.xen.org/index.php/2010/11/24/the-xen-cloud-platform-xcp-1-0-beta-is-available-from-xen-org/ Between its features: Xen-3.4.2 Linux-2.6.32 VMPR - VM protection and recovery (scheduled backup of VMs via snapshot/export) XenCenter integration ... I'm interested about trying this beta, because one reason because of we are using XenServer of Citrix (its free version) is XenCenter (XCP didn't have any graphic console working reasonable well). But I can't use XenCenter (version 5.6). I get the error that XenCenter is outdated. Any idea? Is it really integrated? Do I need a specific version of XenCenter? -- Angel L.
