At this moment Linux running VMware server is a better option.  
Currently there are no guest drivers available for any OS that could 
potentially help glitches or other virtualization ailments.  Efficiency 
wise, VMware is still marginally a better performer across different 
hardware, with some rare occasions in which xVM (Xen) can deliver close 
performance.  This is just a personal observation, try it if you like, 
but make sure you keep your OpenSolaris machine on the most current 
build when you notice major Xen features coming down the pipeline, so 
things are fixed, and you have a more pleasant experience.
