Hi! Last week I created a fresh S10u6 guest on my Nevada laptop. I noticed that after installing the OS, and installing CommsSuite 6, that the system performance was questionable.
I've have now migrated the running instance to a server, but still see strangeness with vmstat. I have a 2 socket 2 core system (4 cores) with 12GB RAM. Dom0 has 3GB and 2 vcpus. DomU (S10u6) has 3GB and 2 vcpus. virt-manager reports that DomU is using 49.5% CPU utilization (after a system boot, with the system basically idle). Also, vmstat on DomU looks like this: # uname -a SunOS jes 5.10 Generic_137138-08 i86pc i386 i86pc # vmstat 5 kthr memory page disk faults cpu r b w swap free re mf pi po fr de sr cd s0 -- -- in sy cs us sy id 3 0 0 4773084 2072976 122 11450 221 28 28 0 117 35 -0 0 0 579 2339 934 51 45 4 1 0 0 4705748 1861380 31 18133 2 0 0 0 0 6 0 0 0 478 1256 334 46 54 0 0 0 0 4729064 1863616 35 18271 0 0 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 511 1317 414 48 52 0 1 0 0 4718560 1861504 30 17123 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 430 748 287 50 50 0 2 0 0 4700952 1862340 30 17774 0 0 0 0 0 6 0 0 0 499 1117 416 47 53 0 a 'ps -ef' does not really show anything consuming a lot of CPU. Can anyone help me figure out what is going on? emike -- ______________________________ E. Mike Durbin Architecture Manager Sun Microsystems, Inc.
