Hi,
I want to build a NAS system, and thought about using xvm/xen to use the
server for more purposes (media server, web server etc.).
So my questions are:
(1) Can I run a file server (ZFS, CIFS, FTP etc.) on dom0 without big
performance loss compared to a standalone server? And is this something
dom0 can be used for?
(2) How stable is the xen implementation on Opensolaris? Is there some
kind of GUI (e.g. similar to VMWare server GUI)?
I plan to get a AMD Phenom X4 810, 4gb RAM and some 1.5tb disks. Perhaps
more RAM.
(3) Does it make more sense to get two server, small CPU (e.g. Athlon
4850e) and 4gb for file server, and a fast one (Phenom X4 810, 8gb) for
xen/xvm?
I'm quite new to the xen software, sorry for all the questions.
