Thanks for the response, but straight away I'm in over my head :-S What is "Viridian" and "IO enlightenment"? Also, is xVM gate 3.4 available as packaged install, or does it need to be built from source? > It maybe depend even more on the hardware you intend > to use and the > planned tasks for the windows systems. Hardware is consumer - Intel (branded) 965-based motherboard, extra Skymaster Sil3124-based SATA card, lots of 1TB WD disks. Planned tasks are not strenuous either - this is a home server. Most of the work will be file serving, handled by OpenSolaris native / running as Dom0 (depending on whether I use xVM or not). > (Viridian guest support is available in WinXP SP3, > Vista SP2 (afaik), > Win2k8 and win7) Guests will be a couple of W2K8 x64 VMs, plus possibly one or two W2K3 / WXP x86 VMs. Cheers, Matt -- This message posted from opensolaris.org _______________________________________________ xen-discuss mailing list [email protected]
