Shouldn't it be: $ pfexec /usr/bin/virt-install --nographics -p -r 1024 -n osol04 -f /dev/zvol/dsk/zpool01/xvm/osol04-00 -l /var/tmp/textinstall-131-x86.iso Not sure why it'd work the second time around if it's a owner/permission issue.
