there is a general realtime manual
Realtime and Embedded Guide by Herman Bruyninckx <http://www.cs.ru.nl/lab/xenomai/RealtimeAndEmbeddedGuide-Bruyninckx.pdf> which is pretty good, but is a little bit outdated but the principles discussed still hold.

At the radboud university in Nijmegen ( Netherlands) we use xenomai in a embedded course. We have a set of exercises which step by step let you learn xenomai. (not everything is handled although)
Each exercise documents a part of xenomai.

You can find the exercise here :

  http://www.cs.ru.nl/lab/xenomai/
=> click left "exercises" to see the exercises

Currently the old xenomai 2.4 exercises are online, but currently we are migrating to xenomai 3 on a raspberry pi 3. So probably next week we will replace them with the xenomai 3 exercises. But the first exercises are almost similar in xenomai 3 using the alchemy API.

We also supply an image for a raspberry pi 3 ( or any older one) which has xenomai cobalt build into the kernel. So If you have an raspberry pi
you can use that to quickly start doing these exercises.

Best regards,
Harco Kuppens
