what Dean referred to as the global namespace) should use null rather than
the empty string or any other string as its namespaceURI."
That's pretty sad, because there is no good way to represent this coming out
of the parser, without making some changes that could easily break every
program out there. They should have just come up with a URL for the global
namespace, and everything would have been completely consistent and easy to
process without having lots of special case code.
