Then you should use a debugger and debug where its failing.

The error that I receive is not due to my xml file as I can parse it using DOMPrint.

The message that I get from my program (which is using Microsoft Visual C++ 6) is:

 

 unhandled exception in split.exe (XERCES-C_1_4D.DLL): 0XC00000005: Access Violation.

 

(split is the name of my C++ class)
