Martin,

If you want to build the parser code yourself, you need to download the source
package, xerces-c-src1_4_0.tar.gz.  The xerces-c1_4_0-SolCC.tar.gz  is a binary
package and does not contain any parser source.

After you unzip the source package, you need to run 'runConfigure' to generate
the makefiles and then 'gmake' to kickoff the build.
