Hi,
I am new to this whole XERCES thing so please bear with me. WHen I try to
compile the XERCES software for Java on Sun 2.5.1 I get all kinds of errors.
The JDK 1.1.8 compiler I am using can't seem to find simple base packages
like java.lang.Object and java.io, etc.
Can anyone shed some light on this for me?
Thanks,
Brian

i had to change the library names in the Xerces build procedure and the
assumptions about where they are located relative to other parts of the ICU
directories. i think that was it. i did it quickly with XercesC 1.4 and ICU
1.7 just to check that it worked. figure on less than a day's work to get a
clean compile and link.

Hi Herb,
Is it possible to build with ICU 1.8.1 by making changes to the build
environment or are the changes
involved
much more complicated ??
Thanks,
Nikita
