I know that character data can be split over subsequent calls to
characters(). I was wondering what governs where the splits come. Is it a
certain length after the start tag or does it depend on a buffer when
parsing, in which case it would always come a certain number of characters
after the start of the file. Can other data be split? For example could
attributes be split over multiple calls to startElement.
