Thanks for the info Nick.
So, assuming we already have the gcc C++ compiler available, plus stuff like
autoconf & gzip, and assuming our BS2000 platform has a fairly standard RISC
architecture and a bright graduate with modest C/UNIX experience will do the
work, you're saying it should take a couple of weeks?

With regards to testing, how much is recommended and what facilities are
available?
