The comparisons were for
Machine 1
Windows Nt 4.0 Server
Memory: 256Mb Ram
Processor: pIII 800Mhz
Single CPU Machine
Machine 2
SunOS 2.8
Memory: 256 Mb Ram
Processor: sparcv9 400MHz
Single CPU
Will this make the performance on Machine 2 three times slower than machine 1
Or is it the way that I have built xerces which may be a problem
Thanks

Well, it depends on what hardware you are using.
If you are running on an old Sparc system, with a single slow
CPU, perhaps the speed is normal. It may also depend on the
compiler you are using. The Sun Forte 6.2 compiler is quite
good in generating optomized code.
But an old Ultra-Sparc box with 150MHZ processor will not
compare to an NT box with a 1.4GHZ P-4, or even a 1GHZ
P-III. Give the list some more details, so we can help determine
what's going on.
Please provide details on the hardware for both systems.
OS version, CPU type and speed, memory installed, and
disk speed and type. All these affect performance.

Hello Everybody
I have built xerces on NT and Sun Solaris. What I am finding is that the
performance on Solaris seems to be atleast three
times slower than on NT. Can anything be wrong in the Way I have build the
library. Has anyone expirienced the same problem
Any help is appreciated
