http://nagoya.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=5967 DOM-IDOM Integration ------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2002-03-19 17:17 ------- > But the motivation behind the IDOM design was to remove the DOM's reference > counted automatic memory management which has been the biggest time consumer > (see http://xml.apache.org/xerces-c/program-idom.html#Motivation.) > So this sounds defeating the purpose of IDOM. Sounds like it, but not really. There will be few DOM_Documents referencing/dereferencing an IDDocumentImpl, so this adds little overhead. And since reference counting on other nodes is performed only when they are not part of a document, there is little overhead there as well. The vast majority of ID*Imp use will not incur any reference counting. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
