It was maintained in the past even when validation wasn't on, but that
is very inefficient. But, if it still does do that, it could be removed
at any time as an improvement, so you couldn't depend on it. Best to
maintain your own stack.

Is there any way in SAX2 to find the relative location of an element.
Basically whenever I am at
startElement(), I would like to know the hierarchy from the root to this
element.

When I at C, I would like to know that A.B.C is my path. Is there any
way to
obtain this from the SAXParser.
I would like to know what element need to be unwrapped to get to this
element.
