I committed the patch, adding some RegCloseKey calls to avoid leaking HKEYs. If you could test the version in CVS on a computer with that broken registry it would be helpful.

We recently ran into this same issue -- more than one customer reported to us that our product was failing with a "Xerces panic error," and the problems turned out to be the same one that Ron's patch addresses.
I looked over the patch, and it looks good. We plan to apply the patch to our version of Xerces; however, I just wanted to ask again that Ron's patch be applied to the official build of Xerces.
