How to obtain the line number of a parsed DOMNode within the xml file?

Hi,

handling subtle semantic errors in xml files, which cannot be detected 
by schema-validation, I would like to point the user to the origin of 
the faulty element in the xml source.

Now, what's the preferred way to do so, e.g. how can I obtain the line 
number of a DOMNode within the original xml-document?
