I think the Problem is that the InputStream gets closed due to
a bug i already have reported (see Bug Report 3119).
There are two solutions:
a) wrap the Stream in a own stream that doesn't close the underlying
stream
   when its closed.
b) patch the org/apache/xerces/readers/CharReader.java in line 175 by
  commenting out the line: //fCharacterStream.close();
