Since there doesn't seem to be consensus either way on Edwin's JAXP-related schema validation feature, I wonder if it's worth waiting any longer or whether we should finally bite the bullet and send Xerces1 on its way? There's a tremendous amount of work yet to do for Xerces2, so it would really be nice to put this release to rest. Perhaps we can add a note in one of our FAQs describing how we're deviating from the spirit of JAXP 1.1? So if no one cries foul, can we set tomorrow noon as the deadline for further contributions to Xerces1? If so I'll try and get it out tomorrow afternoon.
