Well, I guess that answers my questions! I've tested with Xerces 1.4.4 and bug 1793 still seems to be present. Thanks for the work on the 1.* series! I look forward to the stable release of 2.0.0. Actually, that leaves one question: will the stable release be some form of candidate release or will it be a production release? This sort of thing matters when trying to persuade my management/administrators to install a piece of software.
