All that we need to do to make progress on subprojectizing is to come to a
consensus on
what we want to do.  In my mind, that would be:

1. deciding what subprojects there are
2. figuring out how to make it easy for users to get subproject stuff.
3. asking for additional repositories, etc to be created -- although I
actually think that this is more a build/packaging issue.

I haven't approached James Clark about this, but I'm happy to if people
