It seems that you have your own parser configuration (MyDTDConfiguration). It'd helpful to see what's in there. 2. It also seems that your configuration calls XMLDTDScannerImpl directly, which seems unusual. 3. If what you want to do is to parse a DTD (as opposed to an instance that references a DTD), take a look at the sample xni.XMLGrammarBuilder, which shows how that can/should be done.
