I have to admit I feel some trepidation in doing so though: in the surprisingly varied world of JVM's, I hope we've thought of all the ways by which one might figure out one has reached he end of a chain of class loaders. I certainly can't imagine any other alternatives, but if there are any then this code will break badly....
