There didn't seem to be much response. As far as I can tell, there were

Hi all,
Michael Glavassevich has been very active over the last few months
answering many questions on the 2 mailing lists. In addition, he has
contributed several bug fixes for the XML1.1 support, and some performance
patches for the URI support.
So in order to make his contributions easier and more efficient, I propose
to give Michael committer access.
Could I ask for a vote on this by committers over the next week?
