http://nagoya.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=21654 Support for "ISO-8859-15" encoding Summary: Support for "ISO-8859-15" encoding Product: Xerces2-J Version: 2.4.0 Platform: PC OS/Version: Windows XP Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: Other Component: Other AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Xerces does not support the "ISO-8859-15" XML encoding (http://xml.apache.org/xerces2-j/faq-general.html#faq-5). However, this encoding is popular in Europe because it includes the Euro symbol ("" - see http://www.xml.com/lpt/a/2002/09/18/euroxml.html). Java supports this encoding since JDK 1.2 (http://www.ibiblio.org/xml/books/xmljava/chapters/ch03s03.html#encoding_table). I suggest that "ISO-8859-15" should be supported in a future version of Xerces because it will provide convenience to European users. Since it is only marginally different from "ISO-8859-1", that seems to be not too difficult. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
