Although, this case is not defined by the DOM spec, I agree it is bad to throw 
ClassCastException. Instead now, we create a new attribute, and insert it, 
removing the old DOM Level 1 node. Note: this might cause events to be 
propagated and user data to be lost.

Please, verify (in CVS) and close the bug.
