Take a look at EntityResolver and ErrorHandler interfaces.
You may have to implement one or the other or both of them depending on what you are trying to do.

Subject: (Mis)handling of missing XML schema?
Version: Xerces-J 1.4.3
It looks like there is no exception thrown when the parser cannot
find the xml schema. I get a Fatal Error message from somewhere
but I cannot catch an exception and terminate the app.
Am I missing something?
