1) There's no such thing as XML 2.0 yet. The most recent version is 1.1. 
The official Recommendation can be found at http://www.w3.org/TR ... 
though it isn't very different from 1.1.

2) Check the namespace URI to be sure... but the xsd: prefix is generally 
used for XML Schema Datatype information, so the documents you're looking 
for are those describing XML Schemas. Formal info can be found at the 
W3C's website, but schemas are a bit complicated so I'd suggest looking 
for a good tutorial; I believe IBM has some useful documents on the 
DeveloperWorks website, for example.

3) If you didn't recognize the xsd: prefix as a Namespace binding, you 
should probably find a good intro to Namespaces In XML as well. Again, the 
formal spec is on the W3C's website, and tutorials exist elsewhere. If 
you're new to Namespaces, the important thing to remember is that they are 
*only* a naming mechanism; they are used by, but do not themselves imply, 
other specs.
