I am by no means an authoritative source on this, and my archive.org skills can't seem to pull up the original Xesam Ontology, but my guess would be that this was unspecified and possibly assumed to be a string that could be rendered "somehow" by a client. Most clients I've seen that might actually implement this spec have just plain text boxes to show this. A quick GitHub search suggests that people are stuffing lyrics "as is" from their source into that field. Cheers, Arun
