Why ? New TeX-related engines could emerge at any time; why is it the job of the LaTeX team to track these and handle them gracefully ? LaTeX is intended to work with Knuth's TeX [1] as its engine; if it supports other engines, then that is great, but the duty so to do cannot be dumped on the LaTeX team. Philip Taylor -------- [1] Actually, I think it assumes e-TeX these days, but not using LaTeX I cannot be sure. -------------------------------------------------- Subscriptions, Archive, and List information, etc.: http://tug.org/mailman/listinfo/xetex
