It's clear that parts of the code base need a complete rewrite and at the moment it feels like the patches are only mitigating the symptoms rather than addressing the real cause. Maybe this is something that can be crowdfunded. Please *don't* flame me for making this suggestion but as someone who loves xfce and thunar I'd be happy to contribute money towards such a goal and so would many others who are tired of thunar crashing. It's just a suggestion.
