Slowly but steady we will make new stable release of the various modules, distros will use these to update their repositories, so over time the updated translations will show up where you expect them. Apart from the 4.8 branch it is wise to also apply the (merged with master) 4.8 po files into master, so you have a head-start with 4.10, not heavily required atm, but just so you know.
