Thank you and yes. Changed and then log-out and log-in with no change in behavior. Same setting change and reboot did not change this behavior either. This is a Live-Cd/Dvd install of an Xfce 'snapshot' from <http://alt.fedoraproject.org/pub/alt/nightly-composes/ > from a long time ago.
