Hi again.
Can one please confirm that it's not possible to only display the 'Text'
in
the xfce4-places-plugin (1.3.0) when used with Xfce 4.10?

Hi Marcus - just to clarify - what do you mean by only display the
'Text'? As in how it shows up on the panel when added? If so, yes it
is possible. See attached for how mine looks.
Yes, that's exactly what I meant ;)
It just gets lost after re-login, here, falling back to the default view
which is just the icon.

Let me try - I haven't logged out in a while (possibly since adding it).

Ok...sure enough, after logout/login it went back to the icon for me
too. A google-search turned this up on the Arch forums:
https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=141073 So I executed
'xfce4-panel -s' and sure enough it saved.
I think several plugins suffer from this issue (they only save settings
when closed and at logout fail to do so).
The notes plugin is one.
But I saw a commit these days, probably for xfce4-session, that would
force save on logout, so it's probably being addressed.
