I have a UK QWERTY keyboard. 105 keys

system-config-language = English-Ireland
keyboard > layout =
(model = Generic 105 key intl, layout = English UK)
Both user and root

LightDM langage chooser = Ireland.

But when entering password it fails on UK map,
has to be entered as US map style.

If a # was needed,
I find myself having to press SHIFT+3

Once I do login, keymap is fine # is #

Can't see a specific tweak in lightdm.conf

It's only a nusiance, more than anything.
