FYI - the reason for the "fixed" failure was "out of disk space"

Thanks for your reply Alexander, the problem was fixed and the X
server has started.
I figured out the problem, it was a silly problem though. The Hard
disk Memory was completely utilised, Removed the unwanted stuff
and the X server resumed.
