None will show me a display on my LG Electronics Studioworks 700S Monitor. 17 inch. What would really help to understand your problem would be attaching to your message:
- log file of the XFree86 startup (look for file(s) named like /var/log/XFree86.log...)
- config file of your XFree86 setup (look for file(s) named like /etc/X11/XF86Config...)
Also you could describe more precisely *what* you were trying to do and what failed. Did you at all configure your XFree86?
I do not mean to have an “attitude” here but GeeWhiz, I spent a lot of money on this state of the art system.[...]
I love the Open Source concept and was so looking forward to being a part of it.
But I have to SEE it. I only see a boring black and cold screen with a text prompt.
I can assure you I know exactly how you feel about Open Source. Really. But you do not need consolation (nor do you need edifying). What you want is sort of customer support -- and that it of course close to impossible without you providing as good description of your problem as you can. As is the case in all customer supports. :)
