This can be found in the log file "/var/log/XFree86.4.log". Please report problems to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Repeat By: The X clients I use are running on HP-UX 11.00, Tru64 UNIX V4.0G and Linux Mandrake 9.0 mostly. Maybe it's worth to notice that I run a few X servers (two or three) simultaneously on my machine. Once the servers have crashed, it is easy to reproduce the problem, since the same message always displays when I try to restart an X server: "Fatal server error: Active ring not flushed". I can chvt to another virtual console, but my display is still unusable (I see a static "garbage" pattern on my screen). I noticed that a "deallocvt 7" fails (resource busy), even if no server is running on it, since they have crashed. A fuser /dev/tty7 gives nothing. The only solution I found is a reboot... Thanks for your help! _______________________________________________ XFree86 mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/xfree86
