I am coming in here late, what does XF86Config file 'screen' section
say? This is a laptop? I assummed from your /var/log/XFree86.0.log file
you were using the 'radeon' driver. You can of course try it.
i see from this file :(XFree86.0.log), "XF86Config.new log"
---->
II) RADEON(0): vgaHWGetIOBase: hwp->IOBase is 0x03d0, hwp->PIOOffset is
0x0000
(II) RADEON(0): PCI bus 1 card 0 func 0
(==) RADEON(0): Depth 8, (==) framebuffer bpp 8
(II) RADEON(0): Pixel depth = 8 bits stored in 1 byte (8 bpp pixmaps)
(==) RADEON(0): Default visual is PseudoColor
(II) RADEON(0): Using 8 bits per RGB (8 bit DAC)
---> you set this to run in 'Default Depth 8'?
