Dear Sirs, I bought a DELL Laptop C400 not knowing that this device lacks on VideoRam.
The XFree86.4.2 did not work fine. So I searched for a better xserver and found the pre-release XFree86.4.2.99. The download was done on 14.02.2003 one day later I had a excellent running xserver. About this Laptop I learned a lot on www.lanfear.com/dell thank you very much for your explicitly informations. I use a DEBIAN Linux distribution and work for documents with LyX program. But now I have a problem with the related programs as follows: Activiting LyX in a terminal displays the message: Received unhandled X11 event Type: 0xd Target: 0x1e00064 Nevertheless I see my document clearly on the screen. Next step is to convert for dvi file the terminal informs with the message and no dvi frame is visible: Received unhandled X11 event Type: 0xd Target: 0x1e00064 xdvik gs_io: Broken pipe xdvik gs_io: Broken pipe ghostscript died unexpectedly. xdvi.bin: util.c:940: print_child_error: Assertion `buf_new_size != 0' failed. Next step is to convert for pdf file. On my Laptop display I see the message: Error while executing "ps2pdf -dCompatibilityLevel=1.3.
