I am having the same problem. I am using a Radeon 9700 Pro. Have you
found a solution yet?

Subject: [XFree86] [XFree86(TM) Bug Report] XFree4.3+freebsd4.7 -- not
showing text on desktop and in nautilus -- no glyph loaded

Regarding: XFree4.3+freebsd4.7 -- not showing text on desktop and in
nautilus -- no glyph loaded
Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
------------------------------------------------------------
XFree86 Version: 4.3.0 -- patchlevel unknown

OS: freebsd 4.7

Area: fonts

Server: Other, specify below

Server: my videocard is a S3 ProSavageDDR but that's not the problem

Video Card:

S3 ProSavageDDR onboard (mobo: ECS K7VMM)
32MB DDR RAM (shared)

Description:

when i start X everything work fine exept that not all text is shown as
it should be
i checked the logs -- they are entirely the same as with 4.2.1
(it still worked when i was running 4.2.1)
when pressing ctrl+alt+F1 the console displays:
no glyph loaded for 'T'
no glyph loaded for 'r'
no glyph loaded for 'a'
no glyph loaded for 's'
no glyph loaded for 'h'
and so on
the word shown (like trash in the exampleabove) varies, but it is always
something that should be on the desktop
also the sidepanel in nautilus is broken -- same story
i'm searching for other places where the program occurs but i haven't
found them yet
i thougt maybe i hadn't downloaded all packages but Xinstall.sh gave no
errors so probably that isn't the problem

Repeat By:

just 'startx' is enough
see description ;-)
