[This e-mail has been automatically generated.] http://bugs.xfree86.org//cgi-bin/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=95 Summary: s3 card no longer works with new version Product: Drivers Version: 4.2 OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: major Priority: P3 Component: Other AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
I'm not sure if this is a bug or not but on Redhat 7.2 (using xfree ver 3.3.6 with some 4.2 components) it works. on RH 7.3 or 8.0 (using xfree ver 4.2) it crashes with the following error (EE) No devices detected. Driver is set to "s3" in the XF86Config file On the web page http://www.xfree86.org/4.2.0/Status28.html#28, The summary says that "All hardware supported in 3.3.6 is also supported in 4.2.0 except for..." According to this, my S3 card should work but fails as described above. However, according to the 4.2.0 section, on the same page, "Support ... Trio64V2, ... is provided by the 's3' driver (however, only models using the IBM RGB 524, Texas Instruments 3025, or an internal TrioDAC RAMDAC chip are supported).", which means that my card isn't supported and is in contradiction to the summary. If this is true, will it be supported in a future version? I couldn't find any ToDo list. Video Card: FCC ID: ICUVGA-GW503B Chip: S3 Trio64V2/DX 86C775 Manuf: Sporton - obtained from searching the www.fcc.gov website. Manuf web: www.sporton.com.tw RH install detects it as S3 Trio64V2 ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug, or are watching the assignee. _______________________________________________ XFree86 mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/xfree86
